WITH THE RANGE OF OPTIONS AVAILABLE FROM ONE OF THE INDUSTRY LEADERS, THERE IS SOMETHING FOR EVERYONE.
With the increased number of e-bikes on the road, you've probably seen more than a couple with "AVENTON" adorned across the frame.
The company manufactures a variety of entry-level to mid-level e-bikes in a variety of styles and formats to meet the needs of virtually any rider.
It's a business built on entrepreneurship and hustle. While attending California State University, Long Beach, founder JW Zhang noticed many college students riding fixies, but there was a gap in the market for something lighter with the same ease of use. From there, he used his family's manufacturing plant in China to produce the first Aventon bikes, handling everything from bookkeeping to sales calls in the early days of the company.
Aventon released the Mataró in 2013, a high-design, lightweight bike ideal for cruising in southern California. With this model in tow, he drove around Los Angeles and Orange County, selling the Mataró out of the trunk of his Toyota Sienna.
Long before the category took off, Zhang saw potential in the e-bike space and began to consider what a functional, reliable e-bike would look like. The Pace 350/500, Aventon's first e-bike, was a sleek bike with plenty of capability that heralded a new era of electric mobility.
Today, the brand offers over a dozen options and is quickly becoming an entry point for those looking for a high-quality e-bike. These e-bikes are available for purchase directly from Aventon or from one of the many authorised dealers.
In our testing, the Level.2 outperformed expectations in every situation. The Aventon Level.2 remains the best commuter e-bike under $2,000, as well as one of the best supersport bikes overall. The platform updates improve an already excellent bike.
This e-bike comes equipped with everything you need for commuting or getting around town.
Aventon improved its popular Level e-bike with a smoother ride and increased visibility. A new torque sensor distributes power more evenly to the rear hub motor than the previous generation bike. When riding, the Level.2 feels more natural and intuitive. One of our favourite commuter e-bikes has been improved with the addition of integrated lights and a smaller, easier-to-use display.
Furthermore, the Level.2 rides well and is reasonably priced. It's time to level up!

AVENTON PACE 350 STEP-THROUGH
The Pace 350 is one of Aventon’s original models, and it’s safe to say the company’s latest iteration is among its most well-rounded offerings. This e-bike hits 20 mph with a 40-mile range and includes a range of integrated components that puts it well above competitors in its class. It’s a great commuter/weekender hybrid with plenty of utility to conquer a casual ride or the daily grind.
